Guidelines for Posting
I didn’t think that it would be necessary to post this here, but Suzan’s experience on her blog Women Born Transgender as indicated in her post Misgendering or Malgendering is Inappropriate Language has made it clear that some people don’t know the basic rules about how to communicate civilly on other people’s blogs:
Misgendering or Malgendering is Hate Speech.
Hate Speech will not be tolerated. Period.
“She” is the acceptable pronoun for a woman. A trans woman (i.e., a person identifying themselves as born with a male body—or raised male—but who identifies their gender as female) is a woman. Period. No arguments.
“He” is the acceptable pronoun for a man. A trans man (i.e., a person identifying themselves as born with a female body—or raised female—but who identifies their gender as male) is a man. Period. No arguments.
If someone requests the use of other pronouns, you may either use their preferred pronouns or their name (if you’re like me and can’t keep the correct pronouns straight in your head.)
If there is a question, use the person’s name.
If you want the privilege of posting comments to this blog you will follow my rules regarding the use of appropriate pronouns.
This blog is not a democracy. It is a monarchy, I am Queen and these are my rules. If you don’t like it, go away. If you are transphobic misogynistic RATscum, you may furthermore fuck off.
